Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about pricing, data handling, accuracy, and integrations.
Pricing & plans
Is the free tier really free?
Yes. Up to 100 components per BOM, unlimited assessments, and a full regulatory risk assessment covering RoHS 2, REACH SVHC, and EOL/NRND lifecycle flags. No credit card required, no time limit. Paid plans add market, geopolitical, technical, and environmental dimensions. You only pay if you outgrow the free tier.
Do you charge per component?
No. We charge per BOM tier (free / professional / enterprise), not per component or per user. This is deliberate — per-component pricing penalises the very engineers who most need risk visibility.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly subscriptions cancel immediately and run until the end of the billing period. Annual subscriptions can be cancelled mid-term with a pro-rated refund for unused months. No clawback clauses.
Data & accuracy
Where does TekPulse get its risk data?
A mix of live authorized-distributor APIs, regulatory feeds (RoHS substance lists, REACH SVHC, BIS Entity List, OFAC sanctions), tariff databases (US HTS, EU TARIC), and our own classification of 1,800+ manufacturers across country of origin. See /resources/api for the full pipeline.
How fresh is the data?
Live data (stock, pricing, lifecycle) is fetched at assessment time. Regulatory feeds are pulled daily. Tariff and country classifications are reviewed monthly.
What if TekPulse misclassifies a component?
Click "Report classification issue" on any Component Risk Detail panel. Our team reviews reports within 48 business hours and pushes corrections to the catalogue (benefiting every TekPulse user).
Can I see how a score was calculated?
Yes — the Risk Findings panel on every Component Risk Detail page shows every rule that fired, with the points contributed. No black-box scores.
Security & compliance
Do you train AI models on my BOM data?
No. We do not train external AI models on customer data. We use anonymised, aggregated metadata (e.g., "X% of customers source from country Y") to improve our risk engine — but never identifiable BOM contents.
Is TekPulse SOC 2 certified?
SOC 2 Type II audit is in progress, expected completion Q4 2026. ISO 27001 certification is on the roadmap for 2027. For interim assurance, see /resources/security for our control descriptions.
Can I host TekPulse on-premise?
On-premise deployment is available on Enterprise. We provide a Docker Compose stack and a Kubernetes Helm chart. Contact [email protected] for details.
Integrations
Which distributors do you support?
Live: 3 authorized-distributor APIs (names available in Settings → Integrations). Additional distributor partnerships are in progress. If your preferred distributor is not yet supported, email [email protected] — we prioritise based on customer demand.
Do you integrate with PLM tools?
Direct integrations with Altium 365, Arena, and Aras are on the 2027 roadmap. In the meantime, the REST API supports bidirectional sync — most teams write a small adapter script (we have example code at github.com/tekpulse/integrations).
Can I get alerts in Microsoft Teams?
Teams support is coming Q3 2026. For now, point a Teams Incoming Webhook URL at our generic webhook field — formatting is best-effort but functional.
