Understanding the Dashboard
How to read the headline view: top risks, supply chain exposure, portfolio heatmap, and trend.
The dashboard is your daily headline view. It aggregates every BOM you own into a single page so you can spot regressions, plan re-assessments, and answer "what changed this week" without clicking into individual BOMs.
Layout — five panels
Portfolio Risk Trend (top left)
Daily average composite risk score across every assessed component you own. Lower is better. Trend lines appear once you have at least two assessments — useful for proving "we shipped this quarter's risk reduction work".
BOMs by Risk Score (top right)
Every BOM ranked by average score, worst first. Click any row to jump to that BOM's detail page.
Top Riskiest Components (middle)
The 10 highest-scoring components across all your BOMs. This is the most actionable panel — these are the parts most likely to cause a procurement, compliance, or sourcing crisis. Severity badges (CRITICAL/HIGH/MEDIUM) make it easy to triage.
Avg Score by Dimension (right)
Where your risk concentrates: regulatory, market, technical, geopolitical, or environmental. If "Environmental" sits at 50+ while others are 10, your weakness is materials or hazardous-substance exposure, not supply chain.
Supply Chain Exposure (bottom)
Component count by country of origin across four nodes (legal HQ, wafer fab, assembly, final test). Above the chart, we flag tariff implications — for example, "China exposure: 7.1% HQ / 10.7% Fab / 35.7% Assembly — US Section 301 tariffs apply". This single line often drives more sourcing decisions than the rest of the dashboard combined.
How to use it day-to-day
- Morning scan: open the dashboard, glance at Portfolio Risk Trend for regressions overnight.
- Before a procurement meeting: screenshot the Top Riskiest Components panel — it's the answer to "what should we qualify alternatives for?".
- Quarterly review: export a Portfolio PDF (button top-right of the BOMs page) and attach the dashboard view to your design-review minutes.
